About this experience
Set off on a unique kayaking adventure, beginning where the river meets the ocean in the legendary Tamarin Bay — home to the island’s most iconic wave. As you paddle upstream into the heart of nature, you’ll leave the ocean behind and glide through calm, crystal-clear waters, unveiling the untouched beauty of Mauritius. Framed by the majestic Rempart and Trois Mamelles mountains on one side and the striking La Tourelle peak on the other, this journey offers breathtaking panoramic views at every turn. The lush riverbanks teem with life — watch for moorhens in the shallows, ducks drifting on the current, and elegant long-billed birds overhead; with a little luck you may even spot flying foxes in the treetops or playful monkeys in the branches. More than kayaking — it’s discovering the island’s rich biodiversity from a truly unique perspective.
