Cookies
Our cookie policy
A short, honest list of what we store on your device, why, and how to opt out.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores when you visit a site. It lets the site remember things between page loads (whether you’re logged in, what’s in your cart, your preferred currency) and across visits (so the cookie banner doesn’t pop up every time).
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to function. You can’t opt out without breaking the cart, checkout or login.
- wordpress_logged_in_* — keeps you signed in to your customer account.
- woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart — track what’s in your booking cart.
- wp_woocommerce_session_* — checkout session state until you complete (or abandon) a booking.
- wordpress_test_cookie — used once to verify cookies are enabled in your browser.
Functional
These remember your preferences across visits. Set and used only by us — never shared.
- wst_currency — the display currency you chose (MUR, EUR, USD, GBP, ZAR, AED).
- googtrans — the display language you chose (set by the GTranslate plugin).
- wst_cookie_consent — your choice from the cookie banner, so we don’t ask again for a year.
Analytics
Loaded only after you accept the Analytics category in the cookie banner. Until then, no analytics cookies are stored on your device — we use Google Consent Mode v2, which keeps tracking dormant until you explicitly opt in.
- _ga / _ga_* — Google Analytics 4. Anonymous traffic stats, IP-anonymised. Used to see which pages perform and which don’t.
- _gid — short-lived (24 hours) GA4 session helper.
- _dc_gtm_* — Google Tag Manager container helper, only set if we route GA through GTM.
Marketing
Loaded only after you accept the Marketing category. Used to measure ad performance and (potentially) show you relevant ads on other sites.
- _fbp — Meta (Facebook / Instagram) Pixel. Lets us see whether ads we run drive bookings, and whether to retarget visitors who looked at a tour but didn’t book.
- fr — Meta browser identifier (cross-site, third-party).
- _gcl_au — Google Ads conversion linker. Same idea as _fbp but for Google Ads.
Embedded content
Some pages embed maps (Leaflet / OpenStreetMap tiles on the car page) and the GTranslate widget. These third parties may set their own cookies when you interact with them, governed by their own privacy policies.
How to manage cookies
Every major browser lets you reject, delete or restrict cookies via Settings → Privacy. Doing so may break the cart, checkout, login or saved-trips features — they all rely on the strictly-necessary cookies listed above.
To revoke your consent specifically for this site, clear the wst_cookie_consent cookie in your browser settings — the banner will reappear on your next visit.
